1. Purpose

Equra College London (“Equra”) is a professional learning community. This Code sets clear behaviour expectations to protect learning, wellbeing, safety and fairness for all.


2. Scope

This Code applies to student conduct:

  • On Equra premises and during scheduled learning;
  • Online (VLE, email, learning platforms, group chats, social media) where it affects the Equra community;
  • At placements, partner venues, events, trips or any Equra-related activity.

3. Core standards

Students must:

  • Treat others with dignity and respect;
  • Communicate professionally;
  • Engage responsibly with learning and assessment;
  • Uphold academic integrity;
  • Maintain a safe environment;
  • Follow reasonable instructions from authorised staff;
  • Respect confidentiality and privacy;
  • Use Equra systems, resources and facilities appropriately.

4. Respectful behaviour

Students must not:

  • Bully, harass, intimidate, threaten, or discriminate;
  • Use abusive language, hate speech, slurs, or humiliating conduct;
  • Engage in sexual harassment or unwanted sexualised behaviour;
  • Repeatedly disrupt teaching or prevent others from learning;
  • Stalk, coerce, or engage in persistent unwanted contact;
  • Record or share images/audio/video of others without permission where prohibited (reasonable adjustments and lawful exceptions may apply).

5. Academic integrity

Students must:

  • Submit authentic work and follow assessment instructions;
  • Reference sources correctly and avoid plagiarism;
  • Follow collaboration rules;
  • Follow any published rules on AI tools and required declarations;
  • Avoid cheating or unfair means in any assessment.

6. Attendance and engagement

Students are expected to attend scheduled learning, participate in required learning activities, meet deadlines (or use extension/mitigation routes), and maintain contact through official channels.


7. Safety and wellbeing

Students must follow health and safety instructions and report hazards, threats, or safeguarding concerns promptly.


8. Property, resources and digital conduct

Students must not damage, steal, misuse or interfere with Equra property or learning resources. Students must not attempt unauthorised access to systems, misuse accounts, impersonate others, or share harmful content through Equra platforms.


9. Social media

Equra respects freedom of expression. Students must not use social media to harass, threaten, discriminate, or disclose confidential/private information about others in a way that impacts the Equra community.


10. Raising concerns

Students are encouraged to report concerns using Equra’s published routes (Student Services, Wellbeing, Safeguarding, Complaints).


11. Breaches

Where behaviour may breach this Code, Equra will consider the matter under the appropriate Equra procedure and will confirm the route and next steps in writing.


12. Support and reasonable adjustments

Students who need support due to disability, health, or personal circumstances are encouraged to contact Student Services to discuss reasonable adjustments and support options.


13. Review

This Code will be reviewed annually or sooner if required.
